About

Jessica Schouten is a front-end developer in the Greater Chicago Area.

She hails from the southwest suburbs of Chicago, where she lives with her fluffy bunnies. She is inspired by rabbits, old things, the quest to be self-sufficient in everything, and the evolution of consumerism through the 20th and 21st centuries.

She earned a Professional Certificate in Web Accessibility Compliance from a program run jointly Media Access Australia and University of South Australia and completed her BA in Interactive Arts and Media at Columbia College Chicago. At Columbia, she developed skills in web development, digital art, design, photography, and writing about herself in the third person.

When not at a desk in front of a glowing rectangle, she can be found walking around with a camera in hand, wandering the aisles of a hardware store, or harvesting ideas for sewing projects.
